On January 20th 2009, President Barack Obama was sworn into the Office of the President of the United States of America.
In in his inaugural speech, Obama called for a break away from the politics of eight years of the Bush administration and his failed doctrines that had characterized the affairs of government activities in both the domestic and international arena. Theme of his inaugural speech was one of hope and change which he used as his campaign message during elections.whether he actually ussher in a new age of government activity will be seen in the yaers to come.
The president's speech was unlike most he has delivered.infact this particular speech fell short of others which had drawn applauses from audiences due to its catch phrases.the Inaugural Speech was frank about the economic situation, the sag in public confidence, the issues bordering on energy sufficiency and security and the deteriorating image of America in the world at large.
He then proceeded to extend a hand to friends and allies and assert America's willing to once again provide global leadership and together with other developed countries extend a helping hand to those in needy countries.
The new president was very composed during the deliverance of his speech implying his in depth knowledge and grasp of the issues being addressed. He must have realized that during a time when the people had low confidence it was neccesary for him to appear composed and confidence so as to give the people hope that indeed this was a new era ,an era of change.
Eventhough the president's Inaugural Speech was on the low side in terms of applaused phrases, his certainly was a great one, giving hope, courage and confident to the doubters and extending a welcoming hand to all and saundry. This speech will certainly be remembered for the ages to come since the election of the first African-American president is in itself historic.
This speech was specifically engineered for this ocassion. It was tailor to meet the demand of the time since we are all aware of the president's ability to deliver top-notch speeches but his choice of reminding his fellow citizens and the world in general of the troubling times and yet still providing hope of overcoming them is certainly intended.Adding or subtracting from this speech will most certainly devalue it.
